Our Mission
Foundations is the 101-level Leather and BDSM education and social program of Leather Connections, an SF Bay Area non-profit, all-volunteer organization, whose purpose is to teach BDSM skills in a safe, supportive environment.
We are a group that wants to establish a community of learning. Our purpose is to create a safe environment for people 18 and over of all experience levels, ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, sexual preferences, gender orientations, and kinks to learn together and to play together.
We want people to join Foundations who are interested in our community and wish to contribute to it and the community at large.
For us, contributing involves giving time and energy to help create a safe space for everyone to explore their kink. That includes being responsible for newer people coming in and safely facilitating their exploration with the guidance of more experienced people in our community.
We foster this atmosphere of support by encouraging attendance of classes, munches, and play parties. We want people to be friends outside of Foundations, to connect with each other, form bonds with others, and to contribute what they can to fulfill the ultimate goal of creating community together.
Who We're For
Anyone 18 or over, at any experience level, is welcome — whether you're brand new to kink or have been playing for years.
What We Ask
Show up with curiosity and respect. Contribute your time and energy to keeping the space safe, especially for those newer than you.
